Building Partnerships

 During the celebrations for Wren 300 in 2023 there were several academic lectures in Oxford and London, but initially the opportunities for the general public to engage were limited. Thus to bring together key partners and benefit from combined email and social media databases, and reach out to travel trade, we devised a series of lectures that would run across all the major Wren buildings in London. This included St Paul’s, Royal Hospital Chelsea, the Old Royal Naval College and lectures even took place floating along the Thames on the Uber Boat by Thames Clippers. 

What we did

With engaging themes for each venue we invited notable historians and Wren experts to provide the lectures, such as Neil MacGregor and Simon Thurley. The benefits of the partnership were clear, hundreds of people attended the talks, everyone promoted Wren 300 through their own databases and the reach went from a negligible amount to over three million hits on the website alone.
