In celebration of Wren 300, the Primary Schools Education Programme provided over 4,000 children with free, curriculum-aligned workshops designed to enhance learning through immersive, hands-on experiences. Co-designed with schools and informed by pilot feedback and research, the programme offered tailored sessions for Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2) students.

What We Did

We designed, developed and delivered a programme for primary school children throughout London. We convened a diverse team of facilitators from education, creative, and tour guiding backgrounds who collaborated to provide the workshops. Each workshop included guided walks, enhancing outdoor heritage learning, which was particularly valuable in the post-pandemic context. We established partnerships with many Square Mile Churches, the Temple Bar Trust, the Museum of London, and The Mithraeum to ensure a diverse and enriching educational experience. Teachers overwhelmingly praised the programme, noting exceptional student engagement and learning outcomes, particularly for pupils with special educational needs. To extend the programme's benefits, we developed additional digital resources, including audio-visual materials and interactive worksheets, available for free download from the website. The Wren 300 Primary Schools Education Programme exemplified effective collaboration, innovative teaching methodologies, and meaningful engagement, highlighting the value of an inclusive approach to educational enrichment.
